The Inner Citadel of the Stronghold is not the only piece of humanity privileged to naivety. Ares is the only son of Tabitha Wheeler and John Evans, two of the original founders of Eclipse. He has watched Eclipse's climb to their position of authority and success and, despite the hardships, maintains an excitable and positive view on a broken world. A natural athlete with gifted stamina and constitution, he has served as an Eclipse looter since the young age of 13 and continues to thrive as one of their most profitable, if not reckless, scouts.

From his neck swings a silver chain. Hanging at the end is a dog tag. The jagged end of it that points downwards is specked in rust, but you can still read the scratched surface: "ares".

Ares is extroverted and amicable. He thrives off of social connections, and this want is only excarebated by a lonely childhood. When a new recruit is taken into the Eclipse, Ares is usually the first to greet them, and comes off as excitable, helpful (maybe a little too helpful) and eager to show them around. He takes great pride in his friendships and has a talent for seeing the best in others. Many mentors have warned him not to be too trusting or open, yet he's had a knack for letting out a secret or two. This may factor into why he has not been promoted above the Sun rank.

  ROMANTIC //
Despite his openness, an adolescence without children close to age has led him to a stunted romantic life, and when it comes to romantic ventures, he tends to get shy due to a lack of experience and the shame associated with it. As he gets more comfortable with expressing his feelings and allowing his tender side to show, he is a loyal, considerate, passionate lover. This may border on obsequiousness and over-attention, as he's one to want those close to him to thrive. Ares is a traditional lover and only seeks a monogamous relationship.

  ANTAGONISTIC //
Ares is forgiving and friendly. He rarely holds animosity towards others, however, should he believe one wronged or slight him and his organization, Ares can hold a hatred for a long, long time. He identifies strongly with the Eclipse and those that injure the pride of his belonging may also find themselves a target of his sour feelings. Though not necessarily disliked by Ares, he has trouble interacting with those that are hard to understand and complicated to unravel, as to him, everyone's as open and platonic as he.

Ares is born the first and only child to Tabitha Wheeler and John Evans. After a year, John Evans leaves the budding Eclipse for another woman from a drifter colony. Later in life, when Ares inquires, Tabitha informs Ares that his father is dead.

Tabitha Wheeler is a cunning, determined woman. Her only flaw when raising Ares was that she may have loved him too much, and sheltered him from the grim reality of the world. Tabitha is also a staunch supporter of Eclipse and advertised and enforced the idea of its supremacy over the Stronghold.

2077

He grows up lonely. The only child in his age group, he often played alone. Relics of his makeshift forts and signs, crafted out of scraps, can still be found scattered around the Junkyard.

He learns how to shoot a gun. His dreams of becoming an explorer and looter for Eclipse are realized

Ares meets Etienne Blanchard as the Strongholder seeks a more thrilling life. Immediately, he is struck by the other's story and courage and grows to revel the other. He is also grateful at the presence of someone closer in age to him and forms a close bond with him, adopting his habits and mannerisms, such as smoking.

At age 13, he is goes on his first "official" scavenge. This is the first time he's ever been outside of the Eclipse gates.

At age 15, Ares finds Bandit, a bedraggled, alopecia-struck kitten in the Junkyard and adopts the orange tabby. Bandit is temperamental and seems to despise everyone but Ares himself.

At age 18, Ares looses his virginity to Etienne. Sexually naive, he quickly becomes infatuated with the other and currently hopes their close friendship will become something more.

2095

Three months ago, Tabitha Wheeler is pronounced dead during a compromised "coyote" raid. Many members accept her dead, but Ares is one of the few who knows that a body has never been found. He staunchly believes his mother is still alive, somewhere in the Stronghold, and is determined to scour it for her.
