Delilah has woven a web of lies around her thick as molasses.

She grew up in the slums. Graced with beauty and ambition she fell into the good graces of her instructors.

She started on patrol. Was promoted to criminal activity. Now in the last year, she has been elevated once more to the prestigious if new Secret Service. Some say it was through her legs--those that worked with her know it's wasn't just sex. She's a damn good shot with a knack for strategy. Beauty and brains is a fierce combo.

Her softer side is not always apparent behind the sass and the snark, but it does exist once you get past the hazing. She married young to one Percival Odell. Corporate money. Of mediocre ambition. Her few friends asked what the upstart saw in him. Delilah said it was love. Percy agrees. Most others say it was money. Especially given the fact he was nearly twice her age--and one of her instructors in her final year at the Academy.

Regardless, they've remained together for nearly two decades, so there has to be something between them that mattered. That and the fact they have a small daughter. Sawyer is the one person that can always slide right past Delilah's occasionally prickly exterior to her sweet, soft core. Six years old, with a brighter future than her mother could have dreamed for thanks to her father's connections and wealth, she's the apple of both their eyes.

Shortly after their marriage Percival "retired" from active military duty and transferred to the corporate side. He makes a pretty penny as a high level executive in the logistics department of his company. Loving and doting, his greatest desire is to make his wife and daughter's life comfortable and happy.

Despite Delilah's wild ways and frequent liaisons with people outside their marriage, they are known as a power couple in Military Circles (mostly a kind formality for his ego. She's powerful, he's more like a trophy husband.) Not to mention their devotion to the cause.

The Military is the only thing holding the Stronghold together.

It's truly a shame Delilah's actively working to undermine it. Having grown up on the shittier side of the rail-road tracks, Delilah has a burning hatred for the inequality and the unjust reign of the Military. She was radicalized young, and her Military training did nothing to quell it.

The higher in rank she rose, the angrier she became and the thicker her web of lies was woven. Layers of defense to protect her from discovery. Layers of charm and smooth-talking. Slipping into one bed and out of another and feeding whatever valuable information she found back to the Eclipse on the other side of the Stronghold Walls.

She made her connections in the Academy. She never forgot them when she went on patrol. Eyes open. Turned the other direction. She couldn't allow much without suspicion, but even the smallest of aid counted. She made notes of passes, schedules, habits and personalities. Weak points. Choke points.

Then she was promoted. That she didn't expect--but if you sweet-talk enough people the word spreads. Especially aided with spreading some other things. She didn't expect to be on criminal activity.

Shoot first. Ask questions later.

She still has nightmares. But the Jabberwockies were not her people. In some ways they were just as bad as the Military. That reasoning made it easier. She got her reputation for ruthlessness and strategy on this task force.

What pieces of the streets she didn't already know she quickly learned.

Rumors. Codes. Habits. Same things, different people. But it made it harder to help the Eclipse--harder to miss, harder to turn a blind eye. At least thru the vacuum of death a new space to fill was created. Sometimes that's enough.

Now that she's once more been elevated, she finds herself in a unique position with unfathomable information and the deepest parts of her coming away like crocuses after a harsh winter. There was significant danger in her job--but what better place to be to be a spy than in the intelligence division?

The whole of the Military is laid out before her--all she has to do is dig and hope that her web does not wither and crumble.
