The words "Je t'aime pour toujours", elegantly written on a piece of paper and a throbbing headache was all River had left of a life that she had very little memory of. Seemingly abandoned in a world of chaos and danger, River learned the hard way what it meant to truly be alone. She had no surviving family left, years of her life missing from memory, she was like a ship lost at sea. At first, she was confused, angry, and afraid. It was the unknown that kept her up at night, and when she did sleep blurred images and shadow figures haunted her dreams.

There have been many close calls in her journey, at times she thought for sure her luck had run out. But in true River style, she's managed to keep afloat another day.
