Of sharp cards, sharp tongue and sharper intellect.

  PLATONIC //
Leander is generous in praise, material substance, laughter and friendship. He's built his empire off of fostering and maintaining relationships, tip-toeing the line between professional and personal in most instances. He has a wide net of acquaintances and friends across the Inner Citadel, from corrupted Military officers to wealthy pleasure-seekers. His brand begs appearance and status and where Leander Wilkenson is, there's found to be a healthy mixture of class and fun, which is why party invitations flood Leo's inbox. Yet, Leander draws a clear line between these connections with trust- trust is something sparingly given by Leander, even as his laughing eyes betray otherwise.

  ROMANTIC //
Leander's "romantic" relationships are often physical affairs that last an hour to a month. The King does not open his heart easily, even as his open and charming behavior begs difference. Part of this arises from his shame of his past- those hungry nights, with soot stained hands and tired eyes, the days that still permeate his nightmares. To reveal this to someone is to give into their hands the entirety of his vulnerabilities and that's not something he's willing to give up easily. One that seeks his heart must coax him to it, forcefully and confidently, so that even he cannot close his ears to love. In romance, he is led by lust and an unsure heart.

  ANTAGONISTIC //
What Leo clings to strongest are his identities. As an Inner Citadel citizen, a wealthy business owner, lover of cats and King of Diamonds. When some person(s) threatens those identities, he becomes hostile. He is not a kind or volatile enemy. Though he hides his emotion behind a disciplined mask of charisma and ease, his is a slow burning, vindictive anger that may last a lifetime if unchecked. When he seeks justice, he does so with precise calculation and thought, especially if it were in the name of the Diamonds. When he seeks revenge, he becomes lost and erroneous in his own rage.

Quick History
2055

Leo is born in the outskirts of the Stronghold. Impoverished, with a single mother and a father his mother despised (a "rich asshole" who left her, despite promising her the comforts and status of Citadel life), Leo learned from a young age how brutal life could be.

2061

Leo's mother suffered from a drug addiction. As a result, from early as age 6, Leo did whatever he could to support his little family. This ranged from begging to pickpocketing to heavy, industrial labor.

2062-2069

Leo garnered attention from the Diamonds when he learned, with small, dirty hands, how to play cards and how to play them well. Well enough where he could both honestly and duplicitously scam people on the streets. He was recruited into the organization at age 14, with the promise of wealth that Leo and his mother believed were cheated from them.

2069-2089

Leo rises through the ranks of the organization through hard work, innate cunning and a determination to learn and challenge himself. His driving force was to see his mother happy. Unfortunately, she died when Leo was 17. From thereon, Leo cared for naught but himself.

2090

The Lion of Cards was given to him due to his gifted ability to learn and master card games. Yet, this was not what propelled him to the rank of King. His ascension was a brutal and often dirty process, hidden behind gilded curtains and a winning smile.
