General society is anything that can be related to day-to-day culture, both for people inside Stronghold as well as outside. Each major faction also has lore dedicated to their own group culture, which can include things such as attire or uniforms, specialized gear and products, and more.
Rancor is the official name given to a drug specially made by the Spades Gang of the Jabberwockies. It's a liquid-based drug infused with Infected venom, meant to be taken orally. Because of their skill developing and distributing drugs, no one outside of the Spades Gang knows the exact chemical compound to recreating the drug. Thus, for those that wish to partake in Rancor, they must first seek out a distributor from within the gang. Rancor quickly became popular when it was first introduced due to its effects of enhanced strength, senses, and overall feeling of well-being. Some even claim it can help cure diseases and heal wounds, like snake oil from the past, but there's been no documented evidence of this.
Unfortunately, the drug is much more addictive and unstable that regular drugs, and users crash hard if they go without it for too long. Along with this, Rancor has some nasty known side effects such as disturbances in heart rhythm and heart attacks, increased body temperature, restlessness, panic, paranoia, and even violent, erratic behaviour. In extreme cases, overdose can lead to death.
