Unafraid and extroverted, Kaede is a man who naturally draws friends (and enemies) and is in turn naturally drawn to people. When not triggered to rage or sadness, he radiates optimism and exudes a charm with just how lively and uncaring he can be. His friends are numerous, and a lot of his favorite activities revolve around the social and active- hosting parties, hitting up bars and clubs and attending big events. He is a man that says what's on his mind and rarely sugarcoats on the principle that truth is far more useful to his loved ones. Warm, passionate and excitable, friends of Kaede should not expect to stay off their feet for long.
Kaede has had his string of lovers and relationships. He is very much motivated by lust, and sex to him is casual, fun and an adventure in it of itself. Past that, well, it is hard to get someone so energetic tied down. His past "official" relationships have often failed, fizzling out as the passion naturally wilts. The only exception is Kaleb- the person that he has weathered life through, from birth to the end, and is uncustomarily scrupulous with. His best friend, Kaede found it hard to separate his emotional ties, sexual desire and romantic feelings for Kaleb and he continues to be the only one to hold his fragile heart in his hands.
Blunt and impassioned, it's as easy for Kaede to make enemies as well as friends. He has a strict adherence to his principles, and any opposition would lead Kaede to have a less-than-desirable opinion towards someone. He also often butts heads when it comes to business relationships and leaders, as he's impatient and stubborn, becoming defiant for the sake of being difficult. Though he can weather insult and injury, his anger, once induced, is ever-lasting. Competition to his business, threats to Kaleb and organization leaders fall in this category.
Despite having a sharp eye on his brother at all times, Kaede led a fulfilling and vital life. From an early age he was involved in sports, and at once juggled five at once, before his real passion and talent came to him in hockey. A consistent junior league player, Kaede was admired for his reflexes and intrepidness on the rink. A lot of his motivation came from watching his sickly twin cheer him on the sidelines.
After an illustrious career as a college hockey player and dean's list student, Kaede came back to Canada to take care of his brother who's ever fragile health was still declining. Separated for four years, they found their bond had only grown stronger. Kaede dated, worked, but found he could never leave Kaleb's side, a first for his intrepid spirit.
The outbreak. The epidemic. In the face of Kaleb's declining symptoms, their parents signed him up for the vaccine trials. Then, Hell broke loose, and a dying Kaleb confessed his love for his brother. Kaede realized what those feelings that had been stirring inside him were and returned his sentiment. Kaleb bit Kaede, so that whatever happened, they would be together.
Kaede gained consciousness 85 years later. It was a blur of confusion, unexplained rage and fatigue, and yet he could only feel relief when he saw Kaleb beside him, as naked, filthy and perturbed as he. Together, they wandered and found themselves at the Stronghold, seeking sanctuary.
The past came back to them in flashes. Meanwhile, they grew accustomed to Stronghold life. Kaede found himself meld easily in, with the vibrant nightlife and close community. He tried to ease Kaleb into it, regularly cleaning their various hideouts and attempting to get him "fresh" blood (which often left him scammed by the Hearts). Tired of this life, they decided to turn a dilapidated, abandoned corner building into an underground den for others like them. Named "the River Styx", this clandestine operation continues to thrive off of dealings with the Jabberwockies and other Infected. Kaede manages a lot of the front end business- building client and partner relationships, advertising their club and recruiting fresh blood.
