Before the world turned to shit, King was already part of a gang. He was, however, caught and convicted. He could've been part of the initial experiments for Drac-2 or was infected some other way. After his re-awakening to humanity, he used his mob expertise to topple the leaders of the Spades and sat at the top as King. He essentially eradicated all the existing leaders and handpicked their replacemnts. He has been King for more or less 8 years now and his position remains unchallenged.

During his tenure, he had many yet fleeting lovers here and there. When Eve lost Jocelyn, he stood up as her secret guardian, having found her "craziness" fascinating. However, it didn't take long for him to put a stake on Eve. He and Eve developed a Sugar relationship but no one outside the Spades leadership knows of it. He is by far, the only person Eve considers authority and fears.

Marshmallow was still a boy when he was first recruited by the Spades. An orphan and without no one else to turn to, he considered the Spades his new family. He was the first guy to show kindness to Eve when she first came to the gang and he was also there when Eve lost Jocelyn.

As Eve climbed her way through the ranks he became her most loyal subordinate, always at her heels. He was the first to try out Eve's designer drugs and has since then been hooked. He obviously has a massive crush on Eve but does not act upon it, even when Eve teases him a lot. He recently became aware of Eve's relationship with King and he is one confused little nugget, finding that he's not completely aversed to King's advances as he thought he should.

Jawbreaker is one of the muscle men, part of the security group of Spades. As a means of survival when her position became precarious after she lost Jocelyn, Eve heavily flirted with him so she could be "under his protection". Eve, however, conned him into becoming addicted to one of her early designer drugs and thus rather than lovers, they became master and pet. He was forced to teach Eve mixed martial arts so that he could get his fix.

However, when King took Eve under his wing, Eve nonchalantly left Jawbreaker. He still harbors some animosity towards Eve but his current addiction and knowing that she is under the King's protection dissuades him from doing anything.

Cookie was promoted to Lieutenant of the Military Task Force three years ago and in celebration, she threw a small party among her close friends. Eve's adoptive other, Jocelyn was among the invitees. It was then that Eve became aware of Jocelyn's and Cookie's transaction: drugs for intel. Cookie, who was battling PTSD was relying on the drugs supplied by Jocelyn.

After Jocelyn died, Eve continued with the transaction with Cookie. Recently, Cookie's only son, a newly minted task force private, was "lost in battle". However, the truth was Cookie's Infected son is now amongst the captured Ferals fighting in the Spades' theaters. Cookie brokered a deal with King and Eve, she will continue to provide intel on Military movement provided that her supply continues and "her son" is taken care of.

Buttercup was one of the girls raised in The Farm with Eve. She used to be known as Rosie and was the one Eve "sacrificed" so that she could escape. Unable to escape like Eve, Buttercup ended up as a brothel worker under The Hearts.

To get over her traumatic past and her dire current situation, Buttercup turned to drugs. This was how she got connected to Marshmallow, who then connected her back to Eve. Eve, however, isn't apologetic about throwing her under the bus back then. Still, Eve provided her a designer drug with "a higher kick". Since then, Buttercup has become dependent on Eve for her fix.

Buttercup also currently acts as a liasion between the brothel workers and Eve's drug runners.
