Tonight was supposed to be just an ordinary lunar eclipse.
But something was different this time around. The full moon, high in the sky,
reflects not its usual white light, but rather something much more sinister. As though
bathed in blood, its reddish hue gives off a frightening appearance.
It is a blood moon.
And it appears to be affecting the Infected.
Tonight, during the year's only lunar eclipse, the moon is bathed in a reddish glow, giving it the name blood moon. While a naturally occurring phenomenon, it appears to be affecting the Infected on an almost supernatural level. Their cries can be heard for miles, amassing in numbers never heard of before. Even levels that normally hunt solo — such as Hunters — are creating hordes never seen before. Their natural aggression has been heightened by the blood moon, driving them in a frenzy to attack just about anything that crosses their path. Their goal doesn't seem to be simply to
feed as normal, but rather to simply tear and kill. Even Reapers are on the warpath.
The humans are in danger — but perhaps the ones suffering the most, are the Level V's trapped in the body of an Infected. The blood moon has changed them the most, forcing them into their natural state against their will. Fangs exposed and eyes glowing, they had no warning for their sudden transformation, putting them at risk of exposure. For many, their bloodlust has become undeniable as well.
Does tonight spell the potential doom for humanity once more?
Blood Moon Sign-Ups
BLOOD MOON SIGN-UPS END ON OCTOBER 8th
The Blood Moon is a themed IC event done for the month of October, aka our Halloween event! It will be done as a sort of thread roulette system. This means you can sign-up any character that you wish, and once sign-ups are completed, they'll all be put into a lottery system and randomly paired together in a staff-prompted thread. We hope this will encourage players to write together that maybe haven't done so yet, as well as potentially throw in some fun plotting for characters that haven't met before either.
Listed below you can find what characters are eligible to sign up, the expected mechanics of the event, as well as the form to use if you are interested in joining.
REWARDS Any
character that completes an event thread will gain an IC Achievement for it once the achievement system is put into place (currently in progress). Once per character. Any
player that completes an event thread will gain an IC reward that will be revealed in a future Site Challenge (this is character-related). Once per player.
The event threads have the potential for action-based writing. The threads also fall under the site's 21+ umbrella, and may contain Mature content.

ANY CHARACTER IS ELIGIBLE TO JOIN THIS EVENT!
Event Mechanics
Characters signed-up will all be put into a draw together, and randomly paired together. Each thread will begin with a staff prompt, giving a general idea for the plot of the thread. After that, players are free to complete the thread however they want.
While ICly it only takes place over the course of one night, the threads can take as long as necessary to complete in order to count for the rewards.
All threads related to the event will take place more or less at the same time, so if your character is part of an event thread, they cannot simultaneously thread with a character in another event thread.
All Level V Infected characters that get signed-up are affected by the blood moon. This means fangs out and eyes changed. How they are able to deal with this feral state, as well as their increased bloodlust, is completely up to you!
Threads must be at least
8 posts long (excluding the initial staff post), and have a clear ending, to count as a completed thread for the rewards.
