He laughs and throws a grin at the man who was clearly so unimpressed with who North was as a person, that he was making it easier and easier for the Major to continue worming his way under his skin. He rather liked the idea of being given the title of King of Infected — for someone that found power to be so heady, it was something that rather tickled his fancy.
But then the conversation shifts to the idea of an Infected drinking the blood of its kin, and once more the other man seems unamused by such a thought — North isn't even surprised by this point. While he doesn't understand everything the other man is saying, it still brings a chuckle out of him at the end, an eyebrow raised curiously as he listens to the mini-rant. The thought of mutating further because of drinking another Infected's blood... A curious idea, wasn't it? After all, the DraC-2 was already an unstable virus, mutating to different levels of Infected over the decades it's been around.
Who's to say further mutation would be a bad thing?
It took eight decades to finally mutate into a Level V, and that was the crown glory of being an Infected, wasn't it? North could only imagine what further mutation could bring them.
“What an intriguing thought,” North finally admits, his eyes trained to the stranger's face as he tilts his head ever so slightly. “We are already apex predators in our own right... What would further mutation bring? Something even stronger, faster? Something that would hunt those apex predators?” He licks his fangs in an exaggerated fashion, clearly amused with the idea.
“You sound so disgusted with the notion, but if it wasn't for virus mutation in the first place, you'd still be scuttling around in the muck like a rat looking for its next feast. I find the idea of further mutation rather thrilling myself,” he purrs, an audacious smirk thrown at the other man.TAGIan Donnaghan
