Eve considered herself as someone who worked hard as well as one blessed with fortune. Had she not rallied up gullible little insects in the Farm, she wouldn't have been able to sacrifice them for her escape. Had it not been for turning a corner, she wouldn't have run into Spades territory and had herself dragged to their headquarters. If not for luck, Jocelyn wouldn't have seen her, pitied her and taken her in. If she happened to be any less beautiful than she was now, Eve wouldn't have been able to seduce Jawbreaker and save herself from being the gang's toy. And if not for her innate talents and genius, she wouldn't have caught Atlas' eyes.
Yet even though she wasn't really required to, Eve sometimes finds herself playing drug bunny. It wasn't often but it usually would be in one of those high-end casinos the Diamonds run. Most of the time, she did it to find more business for her gang. Sometimes, she did it for the thrill of wrapping men and women alike around her little finger.
In one mini silken red dress, she played hooky with a group of foolish little brats in one of the roulette tables. Eve didn't need to bother talking sales to them as they greedily asked for the candies. However, if there was any effort exerted on her part, it was refraining from slitting their throats as one sniffed on the white powdery material from her foot up her slender leg while the rest drunkenly jeered.
Although the world appeared to be drearily purging itself of all life, Eve found there is never a shortage of lecherous men. When the act was done, she crossed her leg over the other and put on a cheery grin. "Let's get back to the game shall we?" Draping herself over another guy's arm, she pressed for him to bet everything on the next round and watched with satisfaction as he lost.
"Aww honey, it's okay, your friends will get the next one..." That's one brat down, three more to go. She only need to have them empty their pockets here, then call Jawbreaker over so he could wrangle them up for all the drugs they bought "on credit". If they can't cough up more cash, they will be indebted to the Spades.
It had been a very long, drawn-out day for the Diamonds ace who had spent the majority of her evening going around and collecting debts from the poor unfortunate souls that owed her money. For the most part, the work was easy, a dirty look or a broken leg often yielded the results she was looking for but every now and then she ran into a real problem child that wanted to run. Did they think she couldn't catch them? Like her dogs couldn't be on top of them in two seconds. Of course, it was very enjoyable watching her dogs chase down and attack these walking assholes but now it was time to head back and relax for a while.
She made her way to the Velour, Leo's casino, to end her day knowing that as soon as she stepped in things would be running like clockwork and more work wouldn't be waiting on her. Moving through the casino things were just as she expected at first until a very familiar voice danced in her ears. A pain in her ass that she loved and hated at the same time, someone she could throw out and know she would be crawling right back in a few days. Eve.
A sigh left her as she rounded the corner just in time to witness a man snort something off of Eve's foot, rolling her eyes she just had to speak, her dogs inching towards the group. " Are you serious right now? Really?", she practically hissed as she approached, a click from her causing the animals to stop in their tracks. She was obviously annoyed, her mood instantly tainted by the sight, who would even want to do that?! " We have standards here. I know that you aren't used to those, Eve, but it doesn't make them any less real." Drugs really weren't that big of a deal but up against Isabella's ridiculous standards for the casino, it just seemed to make things tacky and classless. She looked at the men with a glare that said get lost, her dogs growling ready to attack if they stuck around. " Inquiring minds want to know, do you at least clean your feet first?"
If she had been a woman quick to surprise, Eve would've been startled by the hiss behind her back. Yet as she happened to be a woman always on her toes, it didn't surprise her all that much when Isabella came nagging. "Bella~!" she squealed, turning just slightly to face the other woman. Of course the other wasn't pleased, as was usual, but Eve hardly found it in her to care. She loved the Diamond gang member to bits but at the same time she's annoyed as hell at her as Bella always seemed to be too uptight.
With a sly grin, Eve only slithered to prop herself up at the edge of the roulette table, situating herself between someone's legs as she pulled at someone else's coat jackets; as if using them as literal shields against Isabella's wordy onslaught and her dogs' possible attacks. From her periphery, she could see Jawbreaker and Marshmallow edge just a bit closer but a flick of her wrist told them to stay put. "Oh come now, Bella, we're just playing~" she pouted then bat her long lashes at the older lady. "You're such a killjoy."
When the other appeared adamant to send her guests away, Eve blew them kisses and sent them away, eyeing one of her pets to wordlessly command to follow the young men. "I should feel offended that you think so lowly of me, but as I am in a good mood, I'll let it slip. And FYI, yes, I'm clean, I bathe more times than your dogs do in a day." Eve cheekily rolled her eyes at the blonde then jumped off the table.
With a few strides, she crossed the distance between them and then launched herself at Isabella, draping her slender arms over the other woman's shoulder in an embrace, finding satisfaction in knowing the other disliked such contact. "If I didn't know any better, Bella, I'd think you have the hots for me. You're always shooing my toys away to have me for yourself." Eve giggled then slithered off the woman before she could command her dogs to attack her.
The squeal of her name coming from Eve’s lips was enough to send a spike straight through her soul, she was way too enthusiastic for someone who was about to get chewed from one side of this casino to the other.“That isn’t playing, that’s being disgusting, again, we have standards and that obviously isn’t one of them. Do you think the upper class wants to come in here and see that out in the open? No. It’s bad for business. If they are into that more power to them, they are welcome to take it to a more private area.”, she lectured the younger woman as if she was a member of the diamonds, she may as well have been an honorary one as much as she hung around. “Being a killjoy is part of being a successful boss~ I wouldn’t expect you to understand.”
This was exhausting, Eve was exhausting. Bella really just wanted to grab the other woman by the shoulders and shake her a few times, maybe just maybe that would reset her brain. “Oh my thank you for being so gracious and not taking offense! I don’t know what I would do if I ever hurt your little feelings.”, her tone was obviously mocking, her eyes rolled, just a few good shakes, really hard ones. “I really hope you take more baths than my dogs seeing as they are dogs and don’t know how to give themselves baths.”, She said it in all seriousness, taking what she had said very literally.
Bella took a quick step or two back when Eve began to close the gap between them only to end up with Eve's arms wrapped around her shoulders. Her body tensed, normally this would be when she would start fighting and letting her dog attack people but luckily for Eve Bella knew that she just did this to get under her skin. "You know I hate it when you do this.", she growled out squirming slightly as she spoke. Eve's next words earned a feigned gag from Isabella, giving the woman a shove when she finally released her. "Please. I don't see how anyone even tolerates you.", she started with a sneer, "The only hots I would have for you would be me setting you on fire.", harsh words but Bella would never set her friend on fire...intentionally. "Let's go, I need a drink and you're buying it."
"Oh please, as if the rich and mighty doesn't dream of some BDSM." she laughed ignoring the other woman's apparent annoyance at her little game. Eve hardly ever cared for other people's opinions of her actions and as such, reprimands usually fly over her head. The only time she takes other people seriously was when they pose a real threat to her own life, which with her current position with Spades, was a rare occurrence. "Now I understand why you lot are always frowning, there's no fun in this house." she teased Bella further.
Once more, the younger woman paid no attention to the other's words. Bella could curse her all she wanted but Eve only found her exasperation amusing. After all, receiving such sarcastic remarks from the Ice Queen was far more interesting than being given the cold shoulder. Plus, Eve also finds some achievement in being able to always get a rise from her.
Eve winked at Bella as the older woman reminded her that she abhorred physical contact. "And I love doing it, knowing that you hate it," she giggled. "Ohh they do more than tolerate me, honey. But I can teach you how if you want."
The other was almost but not quite her polar opposite. Where Bella avoided touch and aloofly looked down upon other people, Eve thrived in invading other people's personal spaces and happily makes them suffer her presence. Their varying reactions and the high probability of it becoming a threat to herself fills the King of Spades with a sense of euphoric high. There simply was no better way of confirming that she lived than being at the brink of possible death.
When Bella spoke of setting her on fire, she hugged her own body and feigned a shiver. "Oooohhh that's so exciting! If I didn't know any better Bella, I would've taken that as innuendo and think you're propositioning me~" Eve grinned devilishly. Then as the other offered to get drinks, she happily skipped in step with her and headed to the bar. "Fine fine, I'll buy you, but next time, it's on you~"
Upon arrival, the brunette jumped up the counter, settling to sit on the cold marble surface than the bar stool. With a gloved finger, she beckoned the bartender over and ordered their first batch of drinks. Not wasting an opportunity, Eve heavily flirted with the man behind the bar before sending him off with a salacious wink.
"So tell me, what's got you needing a drink?" her features tamed down as she turned the other woman. In Eve's opinion, it wasn't often that Bella was bothered by anything, and as such, she was filled with curiosity as to who or what had the other woman's panty in a twist.
Eve was hopeless, Bella knew this, but it didn’t stop her from trying to talk some sense into the other woman. She knew full well that anything she said to Eve typically flew right over her head and into outer space with a loud WOOSH as the words skimmed over the top of her head. ” They might dream of it but I guarantee they don’t act on it in public, not in a place like this.” , she said with a sigh knowing it wasn’t going to do any good. She rolled her eyes at her next comment a groan leaving her lips as she felt a headache coming on.
It was painfully clear that Eve didn’t have an off button the other woman seemed to go constantly, twisting words and people to her will, it was admirable in its own twisted way. ” Rest assured that I would literally pluck my own eyes out with some dull scissors before I would let you teach me anything” Bella brought her hands up to rub at her temples, it didn’t seem like her headache was going to be going away anytime soon. ” Don’t you have anything more productive to do or is this how your Ace allows you to spend your days? Completely unproductive.”
Once again Eve managed to twist her words against her but this time it earned a laugh, as small as it was, in response. ” I swear you are the biggest freak I have ever met.” Only Eve would somehow manage to twist and turn setting someone on fire into something sexual. Honestly Bella wished she could be more outgoing like Eve but when it came down to it this was a business and business meant seriousness, not fucking around with customers, not flirting, and certainly not doing drugs off people’s nasty feet. ” I adore you Eve, really I do, but I swear I am going to buy you a gag or a nice roll of tape just to keep you quiet for a little while.”
She walked to the bar taking a seat on one of the stools, her nose wrinkling at the sight of Eve sitting atop of the counter and shamelessly flirting with the bartender. ” You really never turn it off do you?” , she sighed as she ordered a drink glancing up at Eve, her irritation with the other woman slowly dying down. ” What doesn’t have me needing a drink?” , she laughed before bringing the glass to her lips taking a small drink. ” Work, family, life in general, it’s hard juggling everything and still staying on top.” , she admitted with a sigh. ” Things are starting to level out though so that’s always a good thing.”
