the pfeiffers
The Pfieffers are a proud family of old money wealth. Desiree Pfeiffer nee Bowen is the inheritor of a successful big weapons corporation funded by the Military, whilst Ren Pfeiffer was a Military authority. In 2080, Ren Pfeiffer was killed by what the Military named a "terrorist attack". Only Desiree knows of the truth behind this, in that Ren was to expose Military secrets to the public. All of these characters have ties with the fourth youngest Pfeiffer child, Tomika Pfeiffer.
»desiree pfeiffer
Headstrong and analytical, Desiree is hardly a warm and emotionally available parent. This was only exacerbated by the death of her husband, Ren, fifteen years ago. On the outset, she did not appear disturbed by her husband's passing, only working harder and propelling Bowen Corps. into a golden age of profit. On the inside, however, she struggles desperately with losing the man she loved. She has a cold relationship with most of her children, whom she holds high expectations for, and perhaps would have been harder on had she had a larger hand in their upbringing (for it was Ren who took care of the children). Little do her children know that it was she who helped planned her husband's assassination by the Military and the subsequent cover-up, after the Military threatened to take her children from her if she did not cooperate.

»akira vaughn
Akira is the eldest of the Pfeiffer children and not directly related to Desiree, a child of Ren's previous marriage. As a result, she was always the least involved with the Pfeiffer name and Bowen wealth. She was always a rebellious youth, a headache to Desiree and a person after Ren's own defiant heart. Akira was an Academy stand-out before the death of her father. Five years later, Akira found out her mother's secret and the circumstances of her father's death, and instead of telling her siblings, fled the Stronghold with the intention of joining the Eclipse. She's served them for 10 years.

»ezekial pfeiffer
The eldest child of Desiree, Ezekiel (endearingly, Zeke) is a token of Desiree's limited affection for his impeccable work ethic and infallible honesty. Like his father, he holds a soft spot for those outside of the Inner Citadel walls, yet keeps this fact to himself to elongate his "healthy" relationship with his mother. Growing up the eldest, and a favorite, expectations weighed heavily on him. He was an overachiever and rarely spent time around the Pfieffer Townhouse in favor of completing his engineering apprenticeship. He is expected to be the proud heir to Bowen Corps. yet wants nothing more than to stay out of the limelight and complete his projects in peace.

»calanthe pfeiffer
Calanthe is the most like her mother- cold, ambitious and at times, cruel. She veils this in an air of personality and warmth, like her sister Tomika. Though unlike Tomika, Calanthe wields her words like a weapon for her own personal gain. She desperately wants to inherit the Bowen Corps. and harbors an intense jealousy for Zeke, looking for ways to sabotage his heirship at every turn. Many believe her an air-headed socialite, but everything Calanthe does is out of cunning and foresight, and she uses people's underestimation to her advantage. She is close to Tomika.
