Gabrian was ravenous once upon a time, just 10 years ago. Of course, Gabrian didn't remember any of it because when his humanity slowly declined, so did his memory for what he had done, what he
was doing. But he knew that it was nothing good, considering what he had done just before he lost himself, which he did remember. And when he emerged from Oblivion, the blood of his, no doubt, many victims stained on his old and stinking uniform. He truly smelled like death then, and he hated the stench, the thought that there were heinous deeds that he did not recall.
The man had accumulated habits. Like prowling about on all fours because, he presumed, it propelled him forward faster when he was trying to get to a tasy morsel—a human. That said, it was a habit he hated and long since learned his way out of because it reminded him of everything that he didn't want to be...which was
alive. A living and walking virus without the ones that mattered to him most. Still...he had to eat and human food didn't fit the bill. It was why he was in Wincroft Forest, though admittedly, it was under the guise that he wanted to look for food for Eclipse, which he did intend to do. But it wasn't like he could go telling his people what he needed to do.
Pretending to be normal, he set up traps instead of prowling like he knew he could. His own kind had taken to the Forest as well, feeding on the animals, so he had to watch out...though he knew that they would smell his status of infection just like he could smell it on them.
He forewent bringing his usual weapons, Firesong and Salvation. They made too much noise and he didn't want a fire in the forest. He'd turn himself into a beacon. Gabrian went for a
long cleaver and a
war axe with some odds and ends. He spaced out the traps and safely marked where they were before lying in wait. And what he caught was...not exactly what he intended. It was a dog. That was with other dogs...and a boy. This...could go bad. Gabrian would have rather wildlife for feeding, though it didn't compare to the blood of a human. He was no longer ravenous, but he
was hungry after a bit of starving himself. He didn't want to hurt the boy...but he was there. He also felt bad about his dog and wanted to help.
Gabe was a little ways behind when he made himself known. "
Put a cloth over his face, preferably with your scent. It'll help calm him while you get him out."
